Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi storms UN to promote poverty eradication, peaceful co-existence

Anointed Woman of God, Rev. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, this week, through her Esther Ajayi Foundation, hosted a group of distinguished personalities and leaders of white garment churches at the Delegates Dining Room of the United Nations Headquarters, New York.

The event, which was a celebration and dedication of the International Decade For People Of African Descent and the United Nations Initiative On the Eradication Of Poverty saw His Excellency Tijani Bande, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN delivering the welcome address.

In his remarks, Amb. Bande praised Rev. Mother Ajayi for her tremendous philanthropic exploits and urged her to continue to spread love and joy across the globe.

In her welcome speech, Rev. Mother Ajayi, who was introduced by Chairman, Ovation Media Group, Bashorun Dele Momodu, noted that the aim of hosting the event was to achieve recognition, justice and development for the people of African descent in Africa and around the world.

Rev. Mother Ajayi, who was accompanied to the famous United Nations by her husband, Dr. Ademuyiwa Ajayi, stated further that she wanted through this engagement to accelerate global strategy and actions to eradicate poverty, and achieve peace and social justice for people of all faiths and ethnic groups around the world.

She added that her life experience in UK where she experienced poverty, faced challenges that she eventually overcame with the help of God and her focus on doing the right things was for the establishment of the Esther Ajayi Foundation.

She noted that in life there will always be challenges, but we must never give up, adding that love supersedes all things so people should endeavour to coexist with their neighbours peacefully.

There was also a short speech by the Secretary of Unification in Europe, Dr. Richard Fasunloye who represented the Baba Aladura and the Leader of Cherubim & Seraphim Church worldwide, His Eminence Solomon Alao JP.

He talked about the history of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church and its journey so far and then thanked the globally acclaimed preacher and philanthropist for her contributions especially towards the newly inaugurated Moses Orimolade University in Omu Aran, Kwara State.

His Eminence Rev. Mobiyina Oshoffa, the spiritual head of Celestial Church worldwide who was represented by Superior Evangelist Ayo Osho , a member of Pastor in Council Celestial Church of Christ and Director of Finance, Celestial Church of Christ, UK & Ireland Diocese reiterated the need to teach people how to fish rather than keep giving people fishes. He stated that this can be done through training and empowerment which according to him will enhance self-reliance.

Prof. Sanni, the Chairman of Moses Orimolade University Planning and Implementation Committee stated that history was being made with the hosting of the epic event at the United Nations Headquarters.

He said the motive behind the establishment of the University owned by the Cherubim & Seraphim Church is to train human capital development to enhance poverty alleviation.

He rounded off his speech by appreciating the contribution of Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi through the Esther Ajayi Foundation with the contribution of two million dollars and a promise of an addition twenty-eight million dollars to the institution in future.

The President of Madagascar Parliament, Hon. Jean Max Rakotomamonjy thanked Esther Ajayi Foundation for organizing the event, he added that he was impressed with what the foundation has been doing in Nigeria especially at Moses Orimolade University. He also used the opportunity to share with the gathering the situation of things in Madagascar.

Other speakers at the event were Congressman Marcos Yar of the Parliament of Guatemala, Dr. Richard Hellman, founder of MERCLE and CIPAC, a lobbyist group, Dr. Nadeem Amar, Former Mayor of Julis and Founder, OHR Druce Committee for the Culture of Peace,, Dr. Lazaro Burak Sasson, a former adviser to Minister of Economy of Guatamala, Dr. Alberto Zucconi, President of World University Consortium and many more.

The event was also attended by many spiritual leaders from the Cherubim & Seraphim Church and Celestial Church of Christ such as His Eminence Michael Ebahor, His Eminence Segun Ajayi, His Eminence Joseph Ibikunle, Cardinal James Odunmbakun, and Pastor Isreal Oladele Ogundipe.

The spiritual leaders prayed for Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi and her husband, Rev. Dr. Ademuyiwa Ajayi urging God to keep and bless her for hosting the historic event that will be etched on the hearts of members of White Garment churches all over the world.
