His Eminence Godwin Adedoyin Okulaja was, laid to rest in sobriety with pomp and pageantry, but in strict observance of the social distancing directive of the Federal Government in bid to curtail the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus, families, friends, sympathizers and members of the Eternal Sacred of Cherubim & Seraphim Church, were in forlorn mood on Friday, July 17, 2020, when the remains of vice Baba Aladura Godwin Adedoyin Okulaja was committed to mother earth. The elder had died at the age of 75 years old.

 Of course, but for the government directive on number of people expected at a ceremony, there was no doubting that celebration of the life and times of Baba Okulaja would have been witnessed by a tumultuous crowd giving the deceased’s commitment to the development of the church. But it was still a reasonable turn out of people that fateful day when Okulaja’s remains was interred as quite number of people were on hand to pay their last respect to the departed elder.

Also in attendance at the funeral service were some members of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and notable key figures of the Eternal Sacred Order among whom were, His Eminence David O. Ojo (Vice Baba Aladura of the Eternal), Supt. Gen. Aposltle I. A. Adekunle JP, Supt. Gen. Apostle Dahunsi JP,  Supt. Gen. Apostle Prophet J. A. Esan JP,  Supt. Gen. Apostle Adisa , Supt. Gen. Apostle Femi Adewusi, Supt. Gen. Apostle C. Bayode JP, Snr. Apostolic Mother Bose Bakare JP, Supt. Gen. Apostle M.I.O Oyetakin JP, Snr. Supt Apos Muyiwa Adeyemi JP.

 Delivering the sermon at the funeral service, His Grace Archbishop Prophet Albert Apanisile JP, the Baba Alakoso of the Holy Mount Sinai Church Conference World Wide, extolled the virtues of the late Vice Baba Aladura Okulaja while he was alive and how he strove to ensure all segments of the C&S churches unite under the Unification umbrella, a course, he said, he stood firm for.   Prophet Apanisile used the occasion to urged Christians to live a life of fulfillment in the Vineyard of the Lord before the Day of Reckoning would come.

  The late Vice Baba Aladura Okulaja was born 75 years ago to the family of Pa Samuel Adetola Okulaja and Snr. Apostolic Mother Sabinnah Modupe Okulaja.  He was a native of the famous Ita-ntebo quarters, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

His father was a post master, as a result of his frequent transfer, Godwin Adedoyin attended many primary schools. He attended the Ijebu Ode Grammar School, Ijebu in Ogun State for his secondary school education.

  He had a certificate from the Royal Society for Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce, London.  He travelled to Japan, United States of America and Britain for various security courses. The late Vice Baba Aladura Okulaja was enlisted into the Nigerian Police in 1966. He had rapid promotions and three medals to his credit (National service medal, General service, Republican Medal).

 He retired in 1988 as a Superintendent of police after a meritorious service.  After his retirement, he was seconded to the sugar company jointly owned by Federal Republic of Nigeria and Republic of Benin as Director of Administration between 1988 and 1990.  He also served as a Chief Security Officer to the renowned Neuropsychiatric Hospital (W.H.O) collaborating centre in Mental Health at Aro, Abeokuta between 1996 and 2012.

 He founded GASOK security Guards limited, Abeokuta. He was the chairman /Managing Director. The late Godwin Adedoyin Okulaja bagged many awards within the circles of Cherubim and Seraphim and other religious organisations.

 He was installed as the Vice Baba Aladura of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, on Saturday February 22, 2014.
