Heavens opened as Mother Cherub Esther Tanimowo Afolabi was laid to rest

Mother Cherub Esther Oyetunde Tanimowo Afolabi was laid to rest with pomp as families, friends, sympathisers and members of The Eternal Sacred of The Cherubim & Seraphim Church on Friday, February 18, 2022.

Scores of sympertisers and well-wishers, of course, were in celebratory mood for the week that the funeral activities lasted.

Between Monday, February 14 through Friday, February 18, 2022 the Afolabi family exhibited their love for their departed matriarch in the way and manner they hosted their guests in the series of activities lined up for the departed mother.

The week was heralded with a Service of Songs was organised in the honour of the late matriarch jointly by the Youth Fellowship of the Eternal Sacred Order of C&S Church, the Good Women Society of Eternal Sacred Order of the C&S Church and the Good Women Congress of Lagos State chapter of the C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, the National Good Women Congress and the Hotonu Conference Board of the Eternal Sacred Order of C&S.

On the day of her interment, an unprecedented gathering of Seraphs and other well-wishers gathered to bid Mother Cherub Afolabi farewell.

Of course, not a few eminent personalities were present at the funeral service of the departed woman of God.

Some of those that made it to the venue were some members of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, notably Baba Aladura Henry Odunayo of Palace of Grace C&S Church and a few others.

Also on hand was the new Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, Special Apostle Segun Adio JP, mmediate past chairman of the chapter, Snr. Supt. Apostle J.O Adagba JP, chairman National Executive Council, Baba Aladura Omoniyi Owomoyela JP, Assistant Secretary General II of the C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, Most Snr. Apostle Tayo Ajose JP and notable key figures of the Eternal Sacred Order among whom were, His Eminence M.I.O Ebahor – Erebi JP DD, Vice Baba Aladura David A. Ojo, Vice Baba Aladura J.O. A. Oladapo Jp. Supt. Gen. Aposltle I. A. Adekunle JP, Supt General Apostle Pro.M.A. Sosanya Jp. Supt. Gen. Apostle Prophet J. A. Esan JP, Supt. Supt. Gen. Apostle C. Bayode JP, Supt. Gen. Apostle M.I.O Oyetakin JP, Supt. Apostle Olatunde Ogunkunle and Snr. Supt Apos Muyiwa Adeyemi JP.

From the women folk were chairperson of the Good Women Congress of Lagos State Chapter, Most Snr. Apostolic Mother Dorcas Ogundeji, vice chairperson Most Snr. Apostolic Mother OpeOluwa Lawal. National President, Good Women Congress, Most Snr. Apostolic Mother Odeyinde, amongst others.

The word of reflection was said by Her Grace Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Soloye Jp. According to her event like this calls for sober reflection. She urged everyone to go back home and think of what will be said of them after they have left the world.

Soloye implore family, guests and seraphs present to try as much as possible to have a relationship with Christ, this alone will make us lived a fullfil life, she said.

Delivering the sermon at the funeral service, Supt. General Apostle Prophet M. A. Sosanya JP extolled the virtues of the late Mother Cherub Afolabi while she was alive, delving extensively on how she affected the lives of both young and old with her substance.

It was also mentioned of how the departed Mother Cherub Afolabi committed to the things of God most especially in the C&S church.

Prophet Sosanya used the occasion to urged Christians to live a life of fulfillment in the Vineyard of the Lord before the Day of Reckoning would come.

The late Mother Cherub was born 81 years ago to the family of Pa Gafar and Madam Awawu Odutuyo at Tumosan area of Ode Remo in Ogun State

She was a nurse, a by profession she practised for 15years, before she retired in 1977.
She was installed as Mother Cherub in the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim in 2009.
